A little more about Matt

Favourite food:
Indian, slow-cooked beef ribs (American style), banana smoothies and the wife’s homemade cookies.

Favourite café/restaurant:
I love the coffee from Bar 9. The best food I have had was from Hentley Farm. For wine and dine you can’t beat Russell’s Pizza in Willunga.

Favourite way to stay active:
Surfing, basketball, hiking in the Adelaide Hills (Horsnell Gully), and throwing the Frisbee with my dog Winnie down at the Stirling oval.

AFL Team:
Go the Crows. I also don’t mind the Cats.

Idol/Heroes:
Gray Cook – Founder of the Functional Movement Screen and Author of movement.
Ido Portal – The movement guru who challenges the way I think.
Michael Jordan – The greatest.

Best way to keep fit:
Make moving fun. Surfing is by far the best way to keep fit for me. Making sure I am moving everyday is important. I go through all of the functional movement patterns at least 5-10 times per day to ensure my body is staying active. Find what motivates you and work towards a goal. If you can turn exercise into a self-driven challenge, you’re taking a huge step forward.
